HIVE Digital Closes $28.75 Million Financing via Dedicated Warrants to Bolster Bitcoin Mining

HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd., a leading player in blockchain and digital asset mining, has successfully completed a significant financing deal. On December 28, 2023, the Company completed the sale of 5,750,000 special warrants, resulting in aggregate gross proceeds of approximately $28.75 million. This is a pivotal moment for HIVE, which is focused on Bitcoin mining and developing environmentally friendly data centers.

Details about the financing deal

The special warrants were priced at $5.00 CAD each and contributed to the significant total. Each warrant allows the holder to acquire a business entity without additional payment. This unit consists of one common share and one-half of one common share purchase warrant. In addition, each full warrant grants the right to purchase one common share at a price of $6.00 per share until December 28, 2026. This strategic financing step was made possible through a private placement on a bought deal basis.

Use of the funds raised

The net proceeds from this financing are earmarked for several critical areas. The funds will primarily support the expansion of HIVE’s Bitcoin mining activities. In addition, they are used for working capital and general corporate purposes. Significantly, HIVE plans to hold onto all of its Bitcoins until the next halving, reflecting confidence in its cryptocurrency strategy. This approach underscores the company's commitment to leveraging its digital assets for long-term value.

Market position and future prospects of HIVE

HIVE Digital Technologies has established itself as a growth-oriented blockchain company. The Company owns and operates ASIC and GPU-based digital currency mining facilities in Canada, Iceland and Sweden, all powered by green energy. As of 2021, the company has secured the majority of its funding in Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC), which comes from its mining activities.
